Marna Armstead, Doula Coordinator
Marna is a doula, born and raised in San Francisco. Her firsthand experiences during pregnancy, childbirth, and motherhood provide a nurturing insight into this sacred and uniquely feminine experience. Her purpose is to help women have a safe, memorable, and empowering birthing experience. I gain fulfillment assisting a sister-mother and supporting a family knowing they have a guide in their best interest throughout pregnancy, childbirth, delivery, and postpartum care. I want to help families through their unique encounters during this beautiful moment in their lives.
Sacred & Traditional
I aim to create a safe space for pregnant women and their partners to ask questions about pregnancy, birth, and newborn care. These are vital components of a healthy pregnancy, a positive parenting experience, and the backbone of a vibrant community. Years of experience have shown that new African American mothers and fathers benefit from information delivered by trained professionals who respect their racial identity, honor their cultural beliefs and traditions and engage them in sharing their experiences.
My training is built on the legacy of the African-American Midwife, who was a pioneer in her community, and I believe this training is pivotal to leadership development.
