How do I plan a dinner party fundraiser for SisterWeb?
Contact info@sisterweb.org expressing your interest in hosting a dinner party fundraiser.
If you are hosting at your home or elsewhere, ensure there is capacity for 10-12 people. This includes enough space in the dining area, access to a kitchen, and access to a bathroom.
Choose a time and date that does not coincide with holidays or celebrations your guests may be attending. Think about your target guests/ audience and pick a time and date that would work best for them.
Decide if you want to have a theme for the party or combine it with another important life event (for example, a milestone birthday or an anniversary).
Create a list of potential invitees and tell them about the dinner party. When you invite your guests, inquire about any dietary preferences or restrictions in order to have an inclusive menu.
Pick a restaurant you would like to cater from for the dinner party, cook yourself, or organize a potluck style event.
At the dinner party, talk to your guests about your connection to SisterWeb, why you believe in our work, and why you are fundraising. SisterWeb staff attending the dinner party will have handouts and other materials for guests to learn more and get involved.
