SisterWeb's Mutually Supportive Partnership with BirthMatters

Updated: Sep 16

SisterWeb's mutually supportive partnership with BirthMatters focuses on three key areas to enhance our collaborative efforts:

  • We delivered our comprehensive Mentorship Program Training and are providing Technical Assistance for Implementation, ensuring that Doula mentorship practices are effective and supportive.

  • BirthMatters joined us as a pilot site, helping SisterWeb and Tulsa Birth Equity Initiative (TBEI) develop the Blossoming Birth Community Doula Training for Trainers. This is designed to equip trainers with the skills and knowledge necessary to guide and support aspiring doulas.

  • SisterWeb and TBEI are providing training and support to BirthMatters in their prioritization of meticulous Documentation and Data Management. As three similar Community Doula Programs, we all aim to track progress, evaluate outcomes, and continuously improve our programs.

Through this deep, personalized and structured approach together we are building a robust foundation for nurturing and growing our community of professional birthworkers. We are immensely grateful to our "cousins" in South Carolina for the ongoing support and opportunities to collaborate!
