This unforgettable evening will feature light bites and appetizers, a live DJ, dancing, and meaningful connections with Bay Area leaders and changemakers. Together, we’ll celebrate a shared commitment to birth justice and the belief that every birthing person deserves safe, dignified care.
The Birth Justice Prom uplifts Black and Brown maternal and infant health by supporting SisterWeb’s San Francisco doula programs and expanding Birthland’s Oakland-based midwifery and advocacy work. Together, we’re investing in the next generation of doulas and midwives to strengthen families and advance equitable, culturally rooted care.

Who in our community deserves to be celebrated and honored as Prom Royalty? Every community has people who help others grow: through advocacy, service, healing work, or simply showing up with care. Prom Royalty honors these community leaders whose dedication has advanced birth justice and maternal equity. All nominees will be recognized and celebrated at the event, but only ONE individual ultimately crowned Prom Royalty!

West African Drumming Experience
CeCe & Cello are a team of two dynamic performing artists and teaching instructors from West Oakland, California who specializes in teaching a range of blending cultural traditions and performing arts in West African Stilt dance, drumming, and circus arts skills to children and youth from different communities around the Bay Area. Through their work they strive to promote cultural engagement and foster community development. They aim to inspire creativity, build confidence, and preserve cultural traditions.
Best Dressed Competition
Come ready to show out in your Sunday’s best! Guests who want to participate can raise their hand and join us on stage for a quick spin. The crowd will decide the winner—the loudest applause takes the prize.

Nina Sol, a nod to her Afro-Latina heritage & warm and sunshiny disposition, delivers a genre-bending soulful sound that resonates with audiences locally and across the globe. A vinyl enthusiast that traverses time and texture, Nina's insatiable curiosity for music discovering keeps her sets fresh and unexpected. She has played with artists including DJ Spinna, Solange, Rich Medina, Natasha Diggs, Pete Rock, and many others. Nina Sol brings a profound energy to dance floors while spreading messages of justice, freedom, and love.

This event celebrates community, so attire is not required to be formal or strict black-tie. It’s about joy, self-expression, and being rooted in community care. Wear what feels expressive and most comfortable for you to bloom! Think prom-inspired with a natural twist! Floral prints, bright colors, ball gowns, bold accessories, sundresses, linen suits, colorful separates, and playful details are all encouraged. You might see:
