Web Doulas
Community Doula Care for San Francisco Families
Web Doulas are SisterWeb’s expanded community doula program, connecting pregnant and postpartum people in San Francisco with compassionate, culturally responsive support.
We believe every birthing person deserves to feel informed, respected, heard, and cared for throughout their reproductive journey. Web Doulas serve families of all racial and ethnic identities, while remaining grounded in SisterWeb’s commitment to advancing birth equity and reproductive justice.

How a Web Doula Can Support You
Web Doulas provide emotional, informational, and physical support during pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. Your doula works alongside your healthcare team while centering your voice, choices, culture, and vision for your care.
Depending on your eligibility and individual care plan, support may include:
-
Prenatal visits to help you prepare for birth and postpartum
-
Birth planning and education about your options
-
Support communicating your preferences and questions
-
Continuous emotional and physical support during labor and birth
-
Postpartum visits and recovery support
-
Newborn care and infant-feeding education
-
Connections to community resources and additional services
-
Encouragement as you build confidence and adjust to life with your baby
Doulas do not provide medical care or replace doctors, midwives, nurses, or other healthcare professionals. They are part of your support team and help you understand your options, advocate for your needs, and feel more prepared throughout your experience.

Who Is Eligible?
The Web Doula program is designed for Medi-Cal members who plan to give birth in San Francisco or surrounding counties.
Eligibility, available services, and the number of visits covered may vary depending on your health plan and individual circumstances. After you submit an interest form, a SisterWeb team member will review your information and contact you about available services and next steps.
